What is Punch Tool?
A punch tool is a hand-held tool generally used to create holes, mark locations, align holes, cut or shape metal, or assemble or disassemble parts in a fitting shop. Punch tools come in a variety of shapes and sizes, and may be used for a variety of purposes. Some common types of punch tools are center punches, pin punches, letter and number punch sets. Punch tools are typically used in combination with other tools, such as hammers, mallets, or presses, to create the necessary impact force to perform the desired operation.

Centre Punch
This punch identified by its tip angle which is always 90° made of High Carbon Steel (HCS).It consists of a pointed tip with cylindrical knurled body to hold it tightly. it is used to mark the center point to easy find out during drilling and also create a dimple in the surface of the material to prevent slipping of drill bit.
Drift Punch
This is a long, tapered punch that is used to align holes that fastened two parts with bolts or to drive out pins and dowels.
Pin Punch
This is a punch with a small flat tip extended that is used to drive out or align pins. It’s specially used in sort space where other punch can’t reach.
Chisel Punch
This is a punch with a flat, chisel-like tip that is used to cut or shape metal.
Roll pin Punch
This is a upgraded version of pin Punch with a small oval shape projection at tips. it’s made of alloy steel used to drive or remove pins.
Prick Punch
This punch has a tip angle of 30°. It’s used to make light mark or holes on metal surface.
Dot Punch
Dot Punch is same like center Punch just has a difference that its tip angle is 60°. It’s used to make the scriber’s mark more prominent.
Letter and number Punch set
This is a set of punches with letters and numbers on the end, used to stamp identification marks on metal parts just like tag mark of product.
Hand Punch
This is a portable punch that is used to create holes in sheet metal, leather or any other materials. It is operated by a hand pressed lever that applies impact force to the punch, causing it to cut through the material.Punch and die set:-
Punch and die set
This is a tool that consists of a punch and a matching die. The punch is used to create a hole in the material, while the die shapes the material around the hole.
Hollow Punch
This punch used to make holes on top of the sheet metal precisely.
Automatic Punch
This punch has a spring inside that is stable against lever head. When marking happen press the lever head. No hammer is required with automatic Punch.
